ILOSM fam’ if you know Tameka “Tiny” Harris, then you know she’s a celebrity who wears many hats- she’s a mother, a wife, an Xscape singer, a successful songwriter, an owner of the first pro’ co-ed basketball team…and she’s also the devoted best friend of reality star/hairstylist, Shekinah Jo Anderson.

The two have been friends for many years and the public got to know Shekinah first from T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle reality show on VH1. Then the ladies did the VH1 spinoff, Tiny & Shekinah’s Weave Trip, and later their talk show. Shekinah is known for being the ’round the way ‘hood chick’ with the big personality and tough exterior, that’ll go off in a heartbeat if somebody steps to her on some type of disrespectful tip. However, underneath her tough exterior, Shekinah still has a good heart, as well as a vulnerable side.

Details Of What Happened To Shekinah

Unfortunately, it appears that a man has taken advantage of her softer side and has used her face as his personal punching bag, according to Shekinah. She took to Instagram on Monday (4-24-17) to share with her 2.9 million fans, that a man had just brutally beaten. She didn’t specify who the man was, but she did share a photo of her bruised face, as she was crying and asked her fans for help with the short caption:

@thatshekinah: Please pray for me this man just beat me sooooo bad please pray for me.

Shekinah’s fans were very shocked by her reveal and immediately began sending her prayers, well wishes and words of encouragement. One Instagram commenter also gave further detail as to what they’d heard about this on Atlanta (Shekinah’s city) radio station, V103:

@_tru.aries: She called 911 and [they took] over an hour from what she said on v103 this morning. .. she said she was frustrated from waiting so she posted the pic I’m guessing hoping that someone that knows her would get to her to help before the police got there.. prayers to her hope that she is able to leave the situation.

We here, at I Love Old School Music, are just as shocked and concerned about Shekinah as her fans are…especially after we went to her Instagram page after she posted the above IG post. Shekinah is known for sharing much of her life on Instagram, but now she’s done something totally outside of her character and that is, she’s deleted her Instagram account and vanished from social media ever since the beating.

Hopefully everything is okay with Shekinah. It seems she’s been going through some really rough times with her personal life lately…that’s not all…
