Okay, so here are a couple hints before you scroll down to see who they are. Their dad was in one of the most popular Black movies of the ’90s era and the film is now like a cult classic. Look closely at the pic up top to see if you can figure it out…then feel free to get your scroll-on to see if your guess is good… 

The twins’ dad is none other than Tyrin Turner a.k.a. “Caine” from the 1993 classic film, Menace To Society! Now can you see the resemblance? The 50-year-old actor has a beautiful fam.’

Meet Tyrin Turner’s Twin Kids

Tyrin seems to be a family man who is heavily invested in his children’s lives.

Tyrin’s daughter’s name is Tai Turner; and his son is Raheem Turner…in case you haven’t noticed, they’re really close. Tai even made that known with this Instagram post…

Tyrin’s son, who goes by the stage name, Lil’ Caine or Caine (in reference to his dad’s Menace II Society character) is an up-and-coming rapper and he seems to be really dedicated to his craft and grinding to get his career thriving. His dad is supporting him 100% and sometimes posts his son’s videos on his Instagram page.

Lil’ Caine once paid homage to his pops online, stating, “I love my dad to death @tyrinturner This is my bestfriend ! … This is my ni&&a for life I’ll die for hm and we’re going to be back on top together ! Caine and Lil Caine… Stay tuned”

The year was 1993 and the world was about to witness greatness in the making with the release of Menace II Society, a true 90’s cult classic. That’s when we were introduced to actor, Tyrin Turner, who played the lead character, “Caine.” We were also introduced to some of “Caine’s” boys in the film: the neighborhood gangsta, “O-Dog” (Larenz Tate), and his awakened pro-Black conscious friend, “Shareef” (Vonte Sweet). Little did we know at that time, there was some major drama happening during the making of the film.

The Violent Altercation On Set

It wasn’t until later, that the world found out Tupac was actually originally cast as “Shareef” and that the directors, The Hughes Brothers, fired him following a violent altercation on the set. ‘Pac wasted no time blasting the Hughes Brothers and letting the world know that he’d given them a serious beatdown, but we never really knew the intricate details behind the fight.

Now, Tyrin Turner has revealed what really happened between the Hughes brothers and ‘Pac that day and he also explained why he couldn’t stand ‘Pac at that time. In an interview with Vlad Tv, Tyrin exposed how it all started. It was during their table reading and Tupac apparently didn’t like the lack of depth his character, “Shareef,” lacked. According to Tyrin, ‘Pac would consistently interrupt the readings and burst out with questions toward the Hughes brothers as to why “Shareef’s” back story, of being a street kid, wasn’t incorporated into the film, to explain why he became a conscious, peaceful cat. In other words, ‘Pac didn’t want to represent a character that appeared to be too soft and righteous, without any street cred.

After constantly being a disruption with his complaints, Tyrin said that’s when one of the Hughes brothers called him out.

“Tupac come into the room, me, Lorenz, Jada, and Tupac was like. No I can’t get into this character. I need more meat. And Allen Hughes was like, Tupac, you’re interuppting the session, let’s finish reading. So we started reading again, and Tupac was like, nah, I can’t get into this. Allen Hughes again was like, Tupac, why are are you acting like a b*tch.”

‘Tupac Was F’king Things Up’

They stepped outside, exchanged words, as the rest of the cast was sitting around at the table and Tyrin said ‘Pac never returned to the set.  Tyrin says, that was the last time I seen Tupac. Tyrin says that Allen didn’t say anything back to Tupac. And he figured that he and Allen had a relationship. That was the last time Tupac was associated with the film.

“I didn’t know Tupac at the time. I was young and fresh from my own block. And I was like, who is this n*gga coming up here interrupting, like we’re trying to do the movie, and I’m staring in it. Whoever this n*gga is, is f**king up my *ish. I’m like I need this movie to go. So at the time, Tupac was just another n*gga trying to rap.”

Surprisingly though, the fight didn’t break out that day. According to Tyrin, Tupac returned with some of his crew, on the day they some of the cast were filming Spice 1’s video for the film  and that’s when all HELL broke lose. Tyrin said that one of the Hughes brothers got into with ‘Pac again and ‘Pac started punching and kicking that particular bother. However, the interesting thing was that according to Tyrin, the other Hughes brother saw what was happening to his twin, and decided to flee the scene, instead of help his twin, who was by that time, on the ground getting the mess pounded outta him by ‘Pac and friends.

Tyrin revealed that after that he was not feelin’ Tupac, because he felt that he was nothing but trouble. It wasn’t until years later that he ran into ‘Pac at a club and Pac apologized to him for actin’ a fool on set, and that’s when the two of them became cool. Geesh! Had they all let the world know all of this went down at that time, that would’ve made the film even more drama filled and interesting. Y’all know controversial always sells.

On Monday we posted video footage of the fight that involved Jamie, his friend/Menace II Society actor, Tyrin Turner (“Caine”), and their other friend (whose name we have yet to learn). Tyrin Turner a.k.a. “Caine” from Menace II Society hasn’t had many major acting roles throughout his career, but he made a long-lasting impression with the roles he did land. When Menace II Society hit in 1993, everybody and their Mommas were talking about that movie and it’s become a classic cult-like film ever since.  “Cain” and his homeboy “O-Dog” (Larenz Tate) were realistic example of what type of lifestyles men were living in the hoodback in the day. (Video below contains explicit language.)

Fast forward to today and Tyrin is doing very well for himself. 

He’s been working behind the scenes, writing a lot of comedy material for his best friend from way back, Jamie Foxx and for comedian, Affion Crockett. In case you haven’t heard, writers can earn a helluva lot of money and that explains why Tyrin can still live the plush lifestyle that he lives.
It’s cool of Jamie Foxx to put his friend on and give him the opportunity to be a vital part of his team. Tyrin often says that they’re like family to each other.

By the way, Tyrin is also still good friends with his former ‘Menace‘ co-star, Larenz Tate. Look y’all it’s “O’Dog” and “Caine”- the 2015 edition…

Now at the age of 44, Tyrin has two children (a son and a daughter) with his wife, Amina Garner. One thing we’ve also learned about Tyrin is that he’s hilarious and he probably deserves to have his own radio, or TV talk show.

He recently talked to ThisIs50’s Jack Thriller about his rivalry with Jay Z’s former music business partner, Dame Dash and he described how he actually landed the role of “Caine” one ‘Menace.’ The way he told this story had us crakin’ up over here. He’s cussin’ up a storm in this video, just in case you’re a little sensitive to a few choice words, but if not, check it out…

Tyrin also did an interview on Sway In The Morning Show, discussing how much Janet Jackson liked his lips on the set of the “Rhythm Nation” video, being on Menace II Society and kissing Jada Pinkett in the film. Again, his language is a lil’ explicit in this one.

Overall it looks like Tyrin Turner is living well and if it’s one thing we love here at ILOSM, it’s to see an actor from back in the day still making noise and doing what they love to do.
