Ouch! Terrence Howard’s Ex-Wife Just Caught Major Win Against Him…Now He Must Pay Up

Posted On : October 2, 2017

Terrence Howard, a.k.a. Empire’s head honcho, ‘Lucious Lyon,’ just caught a major “L” in court. For the past few years, the public has gotten a backseat ride on the hella crazy rollercoaster that describes Terrence and his ex-wife, Michelle Ghent’s marriage, divorce, and ongoing spousal support battle.

Throughout the ordeal, many disheartening factors about their marriage surfaced, including claims by both of them that they physically abused each other.

Terrence Howard Won In PREVIOUS Court Ruling Against Wife

In 2012, the focal point of their seemingly never-ending spousal support battle was created after Terrence signed an agreement to pay Michelle $5800 monthly after their divorce. Then he hit her with a ‘Sike’ response when he took her to court to have that payment arrangement overturned in 2015. He told the judge that Ghent forced him to sign the agreement under duress in 2012, after threatening to release private sex videos of them to the media in 2011. The judge believed Terrence’s side of the story and granted Terrence the victory, in which he no longer had to pay Michelle. That didn’t stop the judge from telling Terrence that he’d “met his match” when he married Michelle because he felt that both of them were ‘bullies’ toward each other.

Empire: ‘Cookie Lyon’ (Taraji P. Henson) and ‘Lucious Lyon’ (T. Howard)

Terrence’s 2015 victory happened just before Empire aired and had he not gotten that “W,” Michelle was possibly gonna get paid big time, due to the success of the show.

Ex-Wife Wins In NEW Court Ruling

Fast forward to now though and she is probably STILL about to get paid big time, as long as this new court ruling sticks. According to DailyMail, court docs have just surfaced revealing that Michelle appealed the prior spousal support judgement and it was quietly overturned a few months ago:

Via DM- Terrence Howard has been ordered to pay his ex-wife spousal support after a California appeals court found the actor was not coerced into signing his divorce settlement. The ruling could allow the star’s second wife Michelle Ghent to claim some of Howard’s lucrative earnings from the hit Fox television series Empire. The three-justice panel of the 2nd District Court of Appeal in Los Angeles ruled unanimously in June to reinstate the judgment that was tossed out by a lower court in 2015.

The judges agreed that Terrence wasn’t under any type of duress due to the fact that he’d allowed too much time to go by between Michelle’s alleged 2011 ‘threat’ and his signing of the spousal agreement a year later, in 2012. The ruling indicated that Howard could’ve reacted in another way also- by filing a police report for example. Translation: The judges think Terrence got his acting on during his 2015 court appearance and that he instead willingly signed on the dotted line, then tried to cut out before the real money started rollin’ in from Empire.

Damn, the thought of splitting up some of those Empire checks has gotta sting for T. Howard just a lil’ bit. Although, if this spousal support battle continues to move at the pace it’s been moving for the past few years, his ex-wife might be dragged right back to court before she gets a dime of ‘Lucious Lyon’s’ paper. We shall see though.
