It all went down on January 29, 2015:

1. Jagged Edge singer, Kyle Norman (shown above) returned home drunk and got into an argument, then a brutal fight with his then-fiance,’ Marrika, who said they started arguing about Kyle’s drinking habits.

2. Marrika’s injuries: Welts under her eyes; golf ball sized knot on left side of her head; a cut to her nose; a broken blood vessel in her right eye. She also told police that Kyle punched and choked her with a scarf, shoved her engagement ring down her throat, and then choked her some more.

3. According to police, Kyle took Marrika’s car keys and broke her mobile phone, refusing to let her leave.

4. Marrika told police she began to agree with things that Kyle was saying in an attempt to calm him down. Once he walked away, she ran and grabbed his mobile phone and was able to run outside and wake up a neighbor who let her inside.

5. An officer saw Norman running down the sidewalk and as he pulled up, Kyle turned around and shouted, “I need to go to jail.” He was arrested for assault and police reported that Kyle told them he was upset about his Dad having cancer and that was the reason he became so angry once he and Marrika began arguing.

Whew! Okay…fast forward to today and they are happy lovebirds again…and are now Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Norman after having an “impromptu, informal wedding” at an Atlanta lounge. How did this happen you ask? Here’s what Kyle and Marrika (whom is currently working on a book for battered women) explained to Rolling Out Magazine about the incident and their reunion:

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
