HBO’s Latest Response To $100M Lawsuit
After receiving teh estate’s $100M lawsuit, HBO’s reps have issued a second reply. Simply put, HBO is seemingly fighting like hell to not have the court proceedings take place publicly. In turn, that is further raising red flags for fans and MJ’s estate, regarding any public outing about the inaccuracies the network may be trying to avoid. Here’s HBO’s legal response to the estate’s lawsuit:
Via The Blast– HBO claims the estate’s “purported basis for their claims is a single non-disparagement sentence buried in a confidentiality rider to a more than 26-year-old expired and entirely unrelated contract. Petitioners’ effort to ‘publicly’ arbitrate these issues appears to be part of a transparent effort to bolster their publicity campaign against the documentary, but that undertaking is as poorly conceived as the claims themselves.”
