Richard Pryor’s Widow Claps Back At His Daughter Over Bisexuality Claims

Posted On : April 11, 2018

Back in January (2018), Quincy Jones sparked a media firestorm when he spilled all the beans about a few of his famous friends. From Michael Jackson, to Marlon Brando, and Richard Pryor, Jones told it all, during his interview with Vulture magazine. He even made mention of the Jo Jo Dancer star having a sexual relationship with Marlon Brando behind closed doors. Of course, the allegations led to a heated discussion on social media and many wondered if Jones had gone too far by spreading rumors or if he was really keepin’ it real and tellin’ the truth.

In Denial?:

When TMZ caught up with Pryor’s widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor in West Hollywood, she was once again asked about the whole debacle surrounding her late husband’s sexuality. She had no reservations reiterating what she’d previously said. Her husband was bisexual and despite his daughter, Rain, denying the allegations, Jennifer insists she was a child who wasn’t there or had any knowledge of her father’s sexual life behind closed doors. “I think Rain has trouble with the truth herself,” Jennifer says in the video below. “She doesn’t wanna, I mean, she was not there…she wasn’t there. It’s kind of sad wishful thinking and I don’t know why she’s ashamed. She shouldn’t be, she should be proud of her father’s truth.”

Jennifer’s latest comments follow her prior response to the allegations. After Quincy Jones made headlines with his statements about Pryor’s sexuality, of course, his widow was asked about the statements. Surprisingly, she admitted Jones was telling the truth. She also explained how drugs may have played a part in Pryor’s sexual escapades, but she confirmed there definitely were a few escapades. “It was the ’70s! Drugs were still good, especially quaaludes. If you did enough cocaine, you’d f*** a radiator and send it flowers in the morning.”

Quincy Tells All:

For those who haven’t read Jones’ Vulture magazine interview, he definitely had a lot to say and didn’t cut any corners. “[Marlon] Brando used to go cha-cha dancing with us. He could dance his [expletive] off. He was the most charming [expletive] you ever met. He’d [expletive] anything,” Jones told Vulture. “Anything! He’d [expletive] a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye.”

Jones had so much to say, even his daughters told him he needed to slow his roll. Although Quincy Jones was apparently telling the truth, obviously his daughters weren’t the only ones with problems with the interview. Pryor’s daughter definitely wasn’t pleased and she boldly called Jones out. Despite the details Jones provided, Rain Pryor adamantly denied the claims. The late comedian/actor’s daughter took to Facebook to respond to Jones’ allegations. In her Facebook post, she discussed her childhood and relationship with her father. “My dad was very open with his life, so much so that news of his relationship with a trans woman in the early 70s and 80s wasn’t really newsworthy nor notable. As a child I knew her, not as the trans person in our home, but the lady whom everyone accepted. So much acceptance I did not know she was trans until recently.”

She went on to discuss Quincy Jones. “Q was once a brilliant music producer who is losing his mind – and decided to garner publicity for himself with a sensationalized interview,” Rain Pryor said. “Then on top of it all, my dad’s so-called widow validated it, because she needs to keep legitimizing herself and tarnish our dad even after he’s dead. She hated Q and Daddy.”

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
