Actor T.K. Carter Was “Head” On Good Times, We Found Out What He’s Doing Today

Posted On : June 17, 2021

Only the true Old Schoolers are gonna remember this one! Remember when actor, Thomas Kent “T.K.” Carter, was part of the “Awesome Foursome” with “JJ” and his boys on Good Times? Let me refresh your memory real quick: “We’re Awesome Foursome until we are dead!” Does that line ring a bell? If not, still keep reading because this is pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

The Awesome Foursome

We were watching an episode of Good Times yesterday, here at the ILOSM office, and when we saw the “Awesome Foursome” we were all like “Where they been at?!!” You may recall seeing T.K. Carter on a bunch of different movies and TV shows such as Punky Brewster, and as “Shabu” in Just Our Luck; and films like He’s My Girl, Seems Like Old Times with Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn, The Thing, Southern Comfort, Dr. Detroit, and the last gig he was most known for was his role as the drug addict, “Gary McCullough,” on the former HBO series, The Corner, which I think was a classic drama series and was also when T.K. proved just how versatile his acting range was…the producers should have kept thing going a lil’ bit longer.

Anyways, we think that T.K. is a very talented cat and one of the most versatile actors in the game. He is also one of the most underrated and that’s why we wanted to feature him on here and give the man his well deserved props.

Check out what T.K. Carter is doing now!

T.K. Carter

We came across this video clip of T.K. Carter filling folks in on what he’s doing now, but it was his off the chain impersonations of Bernie Mac, President Obama, and Jessie Jackson, that really had us trippin’ out…it reminds us that T.K. has not lost his step one bit. We always knew the brotha was talented, but we had NO idea his gift for impersonating folks was on point like this! Check it out below and get your laugh on…

Wait, that’s not all! A few months ago T.K. Carter told one of the best pig stories EVER! If you’re a lil’ sensitive to a few curse words, you might not wanna click this one, but if not, check out this footage of what T.K. said while he was standing outside of a hair salon entertaining folks in true T.K. fashion….

T.K. has the ability to keep the old school comedic era alive of when comedians, like Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx, were taking folks on a ride with their storytelling ability and when Eddie Murphy was impersonating celebs so well, that you thought they were sitting right there in the room with him. Somebody needs to sign this dude up ASAP for another TV show, drama series, comedy film, whatever! He is too talented to not be heard and has the ability to turn the streets into his stage, all he needs is a camera and an audience.

What do you think ILOSM fam?’

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
