By now, many of Jill Scott’s fans have heard about the seemingly bizarre video she posted on Instagram over the weekend. For those who missed it, fans caught a glimpse of Scott in a way they’d never seen her before. She was drunk and disheveled and it wasn’t for a movie. It was definitely live and uncut. As expected, the singer’s adoring fans expressed concern. But of course, there were others who criticized the singer claiming she should have more discretion when posting on social media. So now, Scott is clapping back at the haters.

Only Human:

On Monday, February 10, Jill Scott took to Instagram with another post to fans and anyone else bashing her for having drinks. She posted a statement making it clear that she’s only human. Her message read, “Ya’ll got to stop assuming EVERYTHING is about my divorce. Shit’s dumb. I’ve NEVER fit a box; no matter how big it is,” Scott wrote. “Let that thing go out cha mind because IT’S OUT OF MINE. #Bahleedat #heme???? Ok.”

The Alarming Video:

Jill Scott’s latest clap back comes just days after she posted the video. On Saturday, the singer posted a drunken video of herself and the caption read, “It started off so good and then Fu Fe gave me some more to drink and I drank it,” Scott said. “Ooh, Saturday night.”

Almost immediately after she posted the video, fans began voicing their concerns. Many assumed the drunken moment was a result of the stress she’s dealing with as a result of her pending divorce. So, of course, there were thousands of comments from fans. One fan wrote, “Stay off the Gram when you’re drunk Jill you’re too famous for this Cardi b shit you’re pulling.” Another fan wrote, “Jill put the weed, alcohol and your phone down hunny…I still love your music girl!!”

The next day, Scott took to Instagram with another post confirming that she was fine. “The morning after. I’m blaming FU FE for another GREAT party. Relax sweethearts. I’m fine. Had too much of a great time,” the singer wrote with laughing emojis. So despite the consideration from fans, Jill Scott still wants to make it clear that she’s good.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
