After Ex Accuses Tyrese Of Doing Unthinkable To Their Daughter He Asks Fans For Help
Tyrese Gibson has been going through it these past 24 hours. Anyone who follows the R&B crooner on social media, knows all too well, just how close he and his 10 year old daughter, Shayla, are. So it came as an incredible shock to his fans when his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, was granted a restraining order against him, over her claims that he severely abused their daughter.
Ex-Wife’s Restraining Order & Allegations
On Wednesday, court documents surfaced via TheBlast, in which Norma claimed that Tyrese allegedly “went into a rage, pushed our daughter to the ground, pinned her face down, put his knees on her back, grabbed her hands with one arm and beat her with the other.” Norma claims the incident happened when Shayla was staying at Tyrese’s house on August 19th.
The court docs also quote Norma as stating that the abusive situation started after Tyrese accused their daughter of “stealing her own piggy bank money that she received for her birthday.” She says Tyrese beat Shayla beaten again several times after she “begged for mercy, ” and shouted, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Please stop! You’re hurting me!”
According to Norma, their daughter later told her, “mum, dad beat me so hard that it hurts when I sit down.”
People reported that Norma’s court doc also states that Tyrese was diagnosed with ‘Bipolar disorder as well as manic behavior by three psychotherapists.’
Tyrese’s Responses
Tyrese, never one to back down from revealing very personal matters with his fans, he immediately took to social media to address the situation several times. In one post he spoke to Norma directly stating that she’s bitter because he has since remarried and she is still single, which he says is the reason why she’s making such fabricated stories about him:
“All I wanna do is co/parent nothing else…… Please…. Stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt…… I’ve only prayed that your heart heals and we live our lives separately and peacefully on behalf of our daughter…… There’s someone out here for everybody – Norma I know you can see this, I’m sorry I got re-married, I’m sorry we didn’t work out I’m sorry you haven’t been able to find another man since we separated…… Sometimes you get married and have kids and things just don’t work out, but I have NEVER wished harm on you……. I was hoping by now you got over what we used to be… Being bitter, resentful and just felt out mean will has never been good for our daughter …. But I see the attacks just won’t stop so I believe this too will pass and God and the courts will reveal the truth…..”
Tyrese also told People this:
“After 9 years of working extremely hard to co-parent our child, I am disappointed to learn that the mother of my daughter has made gross and false accusations against my character in a shameful attempt to ruin our co-parenting efforts.”
In another Instagram post, Tyrese then asked fans for a hug and thanked them for their support:
“Humbled by the outpouring of prayers and love and people who push the “way” they may feel about me to the side to just simply have a heart and understand it’s not what you read it’s about the truth and facts…. God you are just simply amazing – And FYI I know I post a lot, and I rant a lot but I would rather do THIS than be at home suffering cause I won’t push this energy up off of me……. When you see me just hug me cause I need a hug – #HearMyCryForHelp God I love you for sticking to your word and protecting your son…..”
This is such an unfortunate situation and throughout the years, it’s been very clear to see that both Tyrese and his ex-wife, Norma, love their daughter, Shayla, and she loves them more than anything. We sincerely hope this matter gets resolved in a peaceful manner for the sake of their beautiful child.
