Amid Divorce Drama Tiny & T.I.’s Reality Show Still On, But There’s A CATCH

Posted On : March 1, 2017

So how do you shoot a family reality T.V. show about the modern day, real-life ‘hip hop Huxtables,’ when there’s no ‘Claire’ and ‘Heathcliff’ happy marriage? Easy, according to the executive producers of T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle– you just figure out another way to work the ‘hustle’ and that they did.

T.I. and Tiny may be in the middle of divorcing, but they’re not crazy. They’re all about gettin’ their bread and when it comes to their hit VH1 reality series, they’ve found a way to make it work, by making a few minor adjustments on the show this year.

Instead of the upcoming season being about the unity of their family and their seven children (3 together and 4 from previous relationships), according to TMZ, it’s going to be about the separation of their family and how they’re adjusting as they go through their divorce process. Apparently VH1 was ready to pull the plug on the show after they heard about the pending divorce, but the executive producers were able to convince them that the show could still go on and be a success, at least for one more season.

The unfortunate reality is that their divorce will probably bring WAY more fire back to the show. It was getting a stale in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE seeing a real celeb’ couple raising their family on TV- especially a Black couple, because there’s a severe lack of that representation in mainstream media. However, after five seasons, the Family Hustle storylines started feeling redundant. I just wish there was another way to add excitement to it other than divorce, but hey, things happen.

Much respect to T.I. and Tiny for opting to share the real side of their current situation, instead of selling their fans a facade.

Meanwhile, looking forward to that new Xscape reunion/music Tiny and her group members just announced.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
