“This is a story all about how” Fresh Prince of Bel-Air fans are getting sent on a rollercoaster ride of emotions right about now.

If you missed the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff’s interview with The Sun, then you probably missed the hints he threw about a possible revival of the classic 90’s TV show.

Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff

When asked about whether or not The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air– which starred his best friend, Will Smith- would be revived with the original cast members, Jazzy Jeff said:

“There have been talks with people about doing something. … I think it would be cool if they did it and go down memory lane again. It’s a blessing to be part of something that people still hold in high regard. You can’t beat that. […] It’s hard for people to keep their attention span normally, but to be able to keep it for all these years and transcend generations, put their kids onto it, this is deep.”

That’s all fans of the 90’s sitcom needed to hear, because after that it became the talk of the internet among generation X and damn near had everybody doing the “Carlton” dance…

Well, paparazzi caught up with actor, Alfonso Ribeiro a.k.a. “Carlton Banks,” and he sure did shoot our pipe dreams right down the drain. He made it very clear that a Fresh Prince revival ain’t happening. “I’ve already talked about that one, it ain’t gon’ be no ‘Fresh Prince’ nothin,” said Alfonso. He also said he didn’t know why Jeff made those statements and that fans who have dreams of a revival show need to just “let it go.” Check out the rest of what he said below…

Damn, and I was looking forward to seeing Jeff and Will bring their classic dap to the suburbs again…

On a side note, it’s been 30 years of friendship between Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith, and they’re still pulling pranks on each other like the one Jazzy recently shared to Twitter, check it out below…

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
