There may be far more to the story behind Jussie Smollett suddenly getting all 16 felony counts against him dropped. The charges were dropped after Jussie cut an elusive deal deal, while also agreeing to voluntarily do community service and forfeit the $10,000 bond he posted.

The State’s Attorneys Office has been very vague about why the charges were dropped and many believe something fishy went down behind the scenes.

Now Chicago’s mayor (a.k.a. President Obama’s former Chief of Staff) Rahm Emanuel and Chicago PD Superintendent, Eddie Johnson, are calling out Jussie Smollett and the State Attorney’s Office in a CNN press conference.

Superintendent: ‘Justice was Not Served’

Superintendent Johnson stated this about Jussie Smollett’s dropped charges:

“Do I think justice was served? No. … I think this city is still owed an apology.

Let me digress for a moment. … I’ve been a cop now for about 30 years. When I came on this job, I came on with my honor, my integrity, and my reputation. If someone accused me of doing anything that would circumvent that, then I would want my day in court…period. To clear my name.

I’ve heard that they wanted their day in court with cameras so that America could know ‘the truth.’ But ,no, they chose to hide behind secrecy and broker a deal to circumvent the judicial system.

Soon as it was announced early Tuesday, that Jussie will walk scot-free, after a grand jury indicted him on a 16 felony counts of “false report of offense,” fans and non-fans alike were curious about what had just gone down behind closed doors.

My job as a police officer is to investigate an incident, gather the evidence, gather the facts, and present them to the State’s Attorney. That’s what we did. I stand behind the detective’s investigation.”
