Not only is Ralph’s daughter a proud mommy three times over and a devoted wife, she is also making a name for herself in the music game and she has an amazing voice, just like her Pops.

By he way, speaking of her husband…we all know her Daddy is one of the biggest legends in R&B, so it was only natural that Na’Quelle married a man who’s also in the music game- her music producer husband, Darius “King D” Smith…

Now meet Shelley Tresvant, Ralph’s ex-wife and mother of NaQuelle…

Ralph Tresvant’s ex-wife, Shelly Tresvant, with their daughter, Na’Quelle Tresvant

Many of you may recall when Shelly was portrayed in BET’s The New Edition Story, as Ralph’s wife. In the film, she was referred to as “Zena,” presumably because Shelly did not wanna be associated with the biopic. According to Ralph, everything that was depicted about his life -including his former love- was 100% accurate. Shelly was Ralph’s high school sweetheart and they eventually married in 1993, but divorced by 1996. Even though their marriage didn’t last, they are forever grateful for the beautiful soul they created in their first born baby, Na’Quelle.

We look forward to what the future holds for all four of Ralph Tresvant’s children. We’ll keep you all posted on the rest of the Tresvant fam’ and what they’re cookin’ up soon.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
