D.L.Hughley Checks The HELL Outta Jerry Rice& Ray Lewis Over Terence Crutcher

Posted On : September 20, 2016

Okay ILOSM fam,’ we’re gonna get right to the point with this one- D.L. Hughley just gave NFL legends, Jerry Rice, Ray Lewis, and Rodney Harrison, along with Fox Sports co-host, Jason Whitlock, a very thoroughly check session over their prior public bashings of Colin Kaepernick and their seemingly radio silence on Terence Crutcher’s murder by the hands of police. Watch D.L. call all of them out in the video below via TMZ:

“All the people from Jerry Rice to Jason Whitlock to Ray Lewis to Rodney Harrison who was so upset about Colin Kaepernick not standing up, I wish all of them were just as upset about Terence Crutcher getting shot down as they were about Colin Kaepernick not standing up,” Hughley said.

Below are the prior statements that were made by the NFL legends regarding Colin Kaepernick’s silent protest of The National Anthem:

Jerry Rice — “All lives matter. So much going on in this world today. Can we all just get along! Colin, I respect your stance but don’t disrespect the Flag.”

Ray Lewis — “Listen I understand what you’re trying to do, but understand, take the flag out of it. I have uncles, I’ve got brothers, going into the military, that said I will never see you again. To understand that I will always respect that part of what our patriotism should be. And that’s the side that I think if Colin just really steps back, to effect change, to effect true change in what he’s trying to say, if you don’t have a real solution, if you ain’t seen as a true activist, to go into hoods and do these things on a daily basis and not just jump up and just protest off this one thing because you’re sick of it — we’ve been sick of racism for 400-plus years.”

Rodney Harrison — “I think his heart is in the right place, I just think he was going about it in the wrong way. If he really wants to make change, sitting his butt down [during the anthem], that’s not going to change, that’s going to get people very upset and he has to understand that. And I tell you this, I’m a Black man. And Colin Kaepernick — he’s not black. He can not understand what I face and what other young black men and black people face, or people of color face, on a every single [day] basis. When you walk in a grocery store, and you might have $2,000 or $3,000 in your pocket and you go up in to a Foot Locker and they’re looking at you like you about to steal something. I don’t think he faces those types of things.”

Ummm…F.Y.I.: Colin Kaepernick is half Black, which under America’s ‘one drop rule,’ makes him a Black man.

Anywho, what are your thoughts on this ILOSM family?

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
