Da Brat Forced To Shell Out Big $$$ To Cheerleader She Hit In The Face w/Bottle

Da Brat might be in serious trouble in the near future if she doesn’t resolve a legal issue that’s been lingering for years. Remember when Da Brat made headlines for bashing a woman in the head with a liquor bottle? Well, most fans probably assumed that situation was resolved years ago, but apparently, it’s not. While serving two years behind bars for the 2007 incident, the victim, NFL cheerleader Shayla Stevens, sued the former So So Def rapper. According to The Blast, Da Brat still owes the woman the $6.4 million she was awarded but now things have gotten much worse.

Hasn’t Paid A Dime:

It has been reported that Stevens still hasn’t received one payment from Da Brat although its been 10 years the nightclub incident where the former rapper struck her in the face with a Rum bottle. Stevens reportedly sued Da Brat after suffering permanent scarring, neurological damage, and other mental anguish. Sometime after the lawsuit was filed, a judge awarded Stevens the $6.4 million. However, none of the money was ever paid.

So, now Stevens has filed new legal documents in hopes of beginning the process to collect some of the money owed to her. The latest documents have been filed in the state of California. Although the original lawsuit was filed in the state of Georgia, Da Brat is still liable and will most likely be ordered to pay. However, the situation is a bit worse this time around because the unpaid debt has incurred interest – an additional $1,306,301.37 to be exact.

Since the latest judgment is now registered in the state of California as a result of Da Brat’s failure to pay, Stevens may now be able to go after the rapper’s personal assets and other property. So Da Brat’s grand total comes to a whopping $7,806,736.37, which includes the initial $6.4 million in addition to the $1,306,301.37 in interest.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
