Damage Control? After Janet & Jermaine Excite Fans w/Their ‘Reunion,’ Janet’s Camp Speaks Out

Posted On : December 21, 2017

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri caused quite a stir when they were spotted at STK Atlanta earlier this week. Shortly after the two were spotted together on Sunday, December 17, they sparked a media firestorm as people immediately speculated that they’d reconciled and opted to give their love another shot. Of course, fans expressed lots of excitement about the possibility of Janet and Jermaine getting back together, but is the celebration a bit too soon? Now, an insider who is reportedly close to Janet Jackson is speaking out in response to all the rumors and the relationship may not be all of what it seems.

The Real Deal?:

According to Entertainment Tonight, the insider claims Janet and Jermaine are just friends – the best of friends. Since Janet was in Atlanta over the weekend, she wasn’t about to visit the famed So So Def Records CEO’s hometown without spending time with him. It was confirmed that the two did attend a private event at STK Atlanta, but just as friends. So, what about the public displays of affection? Well, the source claims that’s just how they are with each over “even in public.” “They are close and she’ll always have a warm place for him in her heart,” the source continues. “Both Janet and Jermaine are warm people, so it’s not unusual that there would be hugging or hand-holding, even in public.”

Or Damage Control?:

Since Janet is embroiled in an ongoing divorce battle with her estranged husband Wissam, a serious relationship reportedly isn’t part of the plan right now. Before she makes any moves, the legal battle with her soon-to-be ex-husband has to be resolved. With an impending divorce, it definitely wouldn’t make sense for Janet to go public with details about a new relationship right now even if the rumors were true.

For those who don’t know, Janet is also caught in the middle of a heated custody battle over her 1-year-old son, Eissa. “Janet and Wissam Al Mana’s divorce is not finalized and she would never jeopardize or add fire to what could be a very contentious custody battle,” said the source. “Now that the tour is over they [Jackson and Al Mana] can move forward with their divorce and possibly a very contentious custody battle,” the source added. “The couple will be using a mediator for the time being.”

The publication also reached out to Janet’s rep, but have yet to receive a response in reference to their outing last weekend.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
