It was just a few days ago that NFL Hall of Fame legend turned NFL Network commenter, Michael Irvin, made the shocking announcement that he was “terrified” and undergoing tests for throat cancer. To further add to his fears, the 53 year old football OG revealed that his Father had succumb to that same disease at age 51.

Uncertain if he was about to officially be diagnosed with a disease he feared could possibly run in his family, Irvin took to social media to confess his fears and ask fans for prayers at that time. He’d also revealed what prompted his doctors to perform a throat biopsy on him:

“This past football season after the @dallascowboys beat the @Saints i was so elated and hyped I lost my voice and the problem persisted for almost 2months. After visiting some of the best throat Doctors they thought it to be wise to take a deeper look at the situation….I AM TERRIFIED!!”
