Diana Ross’ Son & His Wife Make New Career Move And Diana’s Involved
Diana Ross (74) couldn’t be more proud of the moves her youngest baby, Evan Ross (29), is making at this time. He’s an accomplished actor, like his big sis,’ Tracee Ellis Ross. He’s a devoted daddy to his beautiful little girl, Jagger Snow Ross. He’s a dedicated husband to the mother of his daughter, singer Ashlee Simpson (33). Also, the brotha is musically inclined, like his mother and his big sister, Rhonda Ross. It’s the latter that he and his wife are focused on building their brand around at this phase of their lives.
Some years ago, Ashlee Simpson had a poppin’ music career, as the pop singer who managed to break free of her sister, Jessica Simpson’s, mega-succesful shadow and carve her own unique lane. Fans adored her as the rebellious lil’ sister of the once seemingly ditzy, cookie-cutter pop star, Ashlee. Out of nowhere, Ashlee fell outta the limelight, to apparently become a devoted mom to her two children (one from a previous marriage to rock star, Pete Wentz) and wife to Evan.
Evan, on the other hand, never quite had the same breakout success with his music, as he’d had with his acting career. However, he has released music in the past, that was actually pretty dope in my humble opinion. They just didn’t seem to take off in the way many would have wanted for the son of an icon, like Diana.
Fast forward to today and the two young lovebirds are joining forces in a new E! Channel reality show that is centered around both of them rebranding themselves as the talented music artists they are. The show is entitled, “Ashlee & Evan,” and it premieres on September 9, 2018. Evan’s sister, Tracee, shared a clip of the trailer on Instagram and boasted about how proud she is of her baby bro.’ In the clip, Diana is seen beaming with pride as well, as she sat in the studio with her son, watching him create his masterpiece. Following in his Mom’s footsteps as a singer are some big shoes to fill, but music is in Evan’s blood and he says he’s got a lot to sing about. In this new song “How to Live Alone,” Evan sings passionately about everything from his wife’s hair, to her lips, saying total solitude is better than being without the one he loves. According to People Magazine…
[My mom] comes into the studio and helps me,” says Ross of the legendary Supremes singer. “She’s so good at it, and she’s been doing it so long. And she’s such a perfectionist. Sometimes I’ll be like, ‘Let me have a few practices before she comes in to hear it.’ ”
When it comes to his mom, “a lot of people are like, ‘That’s Diana’s son, what is he going to do?’ There’s always been a lot of pressure,” says Ross. “But at the same time, you’ve got to do your own thing.”
