Prince Performs With Liv Warfield and NPG Horns

In a recent interview Prince had a few choice words about today’s music executives and although he recently reached a new deal with Warner Bros, he still hasn’t stopped speaking his mind about his dislikes about the music industry and it’s players. Here’s what he said via Rolling Stone:

“Every time I talk to the heads of large companies, they’re always at the beach,” said Prince. “Middle of the afternoon. What are you doing? ‘Oh, I’m at the beach with my kids.’ So we’re working to send their kids to college. And to the beach. We’re not supposed to accept that.”

“Both Warner Bros. Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship,” Prince said in a statement.

Even though Prince isn’t feelin’ certain things about the music industry, it’s great that he now has ownership and control over the master recordings of his Warner Bros. catalog and it’s also good to see that their new agreement worked out for everybody, because Prince was not going to budge until he got what he wanted…but after 7 Grammy wins, 25 Grammy nominations, 1 Academy Award, 4 films, and 34 albums, can you blame him?

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
