XXL reports that Tip’s financial support came following Pastor Jamal Bryant’s initiative to raise money through his Lithonia, Georgia based New Birth Mission Baptist Church. The program, titled the Bail Out program, was created as a means for the church to get more involved with prison reform. Initially the church sought to raise $40,000 to assist with bailing out incarcerated first-time offenders with Pastor Bryant elisting the help of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Scrapp Deleon, who was released from jail in October 2018. Tip’s involvement came later and with the funds he was able to raise Pastor’s Bryant’s $40,000 goal was exceeded by over $60,000.

“It’s almost like finally meeting the good Samaritan – somebody who you don’t know that you didn’t see coming,” senior Pastor Dr. Jamal Bryant said about the program recipients. “They’re appreciative to be able to press the refresh button.”

In total twenty-three people, seven women and sixteen men, were released from jail on Easter Sunday to enjoy the resurrection of their freedom and quality time with their loved one’s on a day that’s all about faith. But the best part about the Bail Out program is that the money raised will also assist with college expenses for the recipients children as well as partnering each person with a mentor and weekly check-ins. Now that’s really putting your money where your mouth is. Check out the recipients joyous reactions below.
