Erykah Badu Debuts Odd New Hairdo, Gets Clowned & Praised By Fans AtThe Same Damn Time

Ever since 46 year old Erykah Badu hit us with her hit single, “On & On,” in 1996, she’s been keeping our attention in various ways. From her music, to her love life, to her fashion and hairdo’s, she’s known for pushing the envelope. In recent years, the topic of discussion, as it pertains to the neo-soul songstress, has been about her three wonderful kids with three different well known rappers- Andre 3K (of Outkast), The D.O.C. (of NWA) and Jay Electronica. This go ’round, the focus isn’t on her men, it’s on her new bold hair decision that’s got Twitter in a tizzy.

Throughout the years, Erykah has been a trendsetter with her hair. She made the head-wrap hairstyle popular again in the 90’s. Then she surprised her fans when she shaved off her locs and debuted her shaved head in her “Didn’t Cha Know?” video. Next came her many other creative hairstyles, but her most recent ‘do takes the cake.

Ms. Badu took to Twitter to show off the new style she’s been rockin lately, and it’s pretty fly…on her at least. Y’all know Erykah could rock a paper bag over her head and make it look cool. Check out her new hairstyle though…

As y’all can see, Badu’s new ‘do is like a cross between rapper, Coolio, and the hair stretch method used for natural hair, to stretch the curls out for a more sleeker look.
