Ex-Destiny’s Child Member Farrah Surprises Many With What She Said About Beyonce’s Coachella

Posted On : April 23, 2018

Many fans are still riding high from Beyoncé’s iconic Coachella performance, which was renamed by the ‘Beyhive’ as ‘Beychella.’ Bey’ didn’t disappoint, her Coachella performance featured a Destiny’s Child reunion and a cameo from her husband, Jay-Z. Following the performance, many celebs publicly acknowledged their Beyhive memberships. Adele shared hilarious clips of herself dancing along to Bey’s set. Janelle Monáe, Chance the Rapper, Questlove, and DJ Khlaled were also among some of the celebrities that praised Beyoncé. Surprisingly, one former Destiny Child member came out of hiding to share her thoughts on Beyoncé’s historical show. Former Destiny Child member, Farrah Franklin, spoke with TMZ and here’s what she had to say.

Farrah Franklin Speaks On Beyoncé And Her Coachella Performance:

No one really knew what to expect when Beyoncé graced the Coachella stage. After watching Michelle and Kelly’s surprise cameo, Farrah Franklin shared how she would love to reunite with the ladies again (although that’ll probably never happened). Franklin’s short-lived career with Destiny’s Child started in 1999, when she was hired as an extra for the “Bills, Bills, Bills” music video. Franklin was also featured in the “Say My Name” video. The group’s manager (and Beyoncé’s father), Mathew Knowles proceeded to invite Franklin on board, alongside Michelle Williams, which apparently came as quite a surprise to the suddenly ousted original group members, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. Franklin was only in the group for 6 months and depending on who you ask: she was either problematic and dismissed…or left on her own accord.

TMZ spoke with Franklin in a Facetime interview and she shared that she would love to reunite with the ladies. Franklin stated that she was in a different head space now and willing to put all the negative things in the past. Admitting that she didn’t expect a call, however, Franklin admitted she would welcome the opportunity to be apart of any future Destiny’s Child reunions:

“I wouldn’t expect it to be honest because they’ve been doing things for a while, Franklin said on if she would ever be asked to join the group for a reunion. But I’m just happy to hear the music. She added, It’s a blessing just to have been apart of the situation at all. But if the opportunity arose, I wouldn’t say no. But until then, I am just working on my own stuff.”

It’s nice to see that Farrah is not bitter anymore and generally seems to be happy for everyone. While she jokingly gestured for Beyonce’ to call her, she’s still pursuing a her own dreams.  Franklin has her own projects, which include modeling, acting, and even a collaboration with New York rapper, Maino. She’s also not the only former Destiny’s Child member to applaud the ladies. Original Destiny’s Child member, LaTavia Roberson, took to Instagram to remind anyone who thought there was still bad blood among her and her former group members, that it’s actually the opposite.

Original DC Member LaTavia Roberson Pens Heartfelt Message To Ex Group Members:

Captioning the photo with the word “sisters”, original Destiny Child’s member, LaTavia, has no ill feelings towards Beyoncé, nor Kelly Rowland. Along with Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and LeToya Luckett, Roberson was part of one of the biggest girl groups of all times, during the Bills, Bills, Bills,” “Jumpin’, Jumpin’” and “Bugaboo” eras. In an interview with People magazine, Roberson shared that she found out that she was no longer in the group when the “Say My Name” video aired:

“I never left Destiny’s Child. That is something that people say. But who would leave Destiny’s Child? That’s crazy! I was dismissed from the group, Roberson shared with PEOPLE. It was very difficult because of the way that I found out about it. I hate even talking about it, and it’s been 20 years — but it is what it is. We saw the ‘Say My Name’ video on TV, and that’s how I found out I was no longer in the group.”

Admitting that being dismissed from the group caused her to be severely depressed, Roberson is a survivor and she is not bitter.

That’s love. Now, I’m pretty sure fans would love to see a reunion with all 4 original ladies…THAT would set the Beyhive on fire fo’sho!
