Over the weekend, we reported on Kristoff St. John’s hospitalization after his suicide attempt. For those who missed the news, St. John was placed in a psychiatric ward after his ex-wife called authorities to have him evaluated. According to TMZ, St. John allegedly tried to kill himself and the rumored suicide attempt was reportedly triggered by the upcoming third anniversary of his son Julian’s death. Back in 2014, Julian committed suicide at a mental health care facility, Long Beach, CA after battling schizophrenia.

To this day, the Young and The Restless star is battling depression over the death of his son. However, there have been conflicting reports about the latest situation regarding St. John’s mental health scare. Now, his ex-wife, Mia St. John, is speaking out.

 

Setting The Record Straight:

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, St. John’s ex-wife, Mia St. John, offered clarity about his situation and the problems he’s facing. Now, she’s denying that he attempted to kill himself.

“I want the world to know the truth about what is happening with Kristoff, because currently there is inaccurate, and fabricated information being reported by certain online outlets,” said Mia St. John. “No parent should ever have to bury their child, and for those who do, it is a nightmare that haunts you forever.”

She continued;

“The death of our beloved son Julian has taken a toll on both of us. He is an actor and while he may appear whole on the outside, his heart is broken. As a society, we need to start taking mental health seriously and realize that no one is immune. I hope that at this moment we can all wrap our arms around Kristoff and help him in this time of need. Help him heal and move forward.”

Mental Health Awareness:

The latest news about St. John’s recent health scare follows a tweet that he shared on October 12. Before his scare, he actually tweeted about mental health awareness in hopes of spreading the word about the importance of speaking out about such issues. Back in 2015, he also tweeted about mental health awareness and revealed he and his ex-wife would be seeking justice for their deceased son. At the time, the pair accused the mental health facility of dropping the ball when they didn’t check on Julian. It was reported that his death occurred at a time when he wasn’t being monitored. According to New York Daily News, there was speculation that the facility lied about how often Julian was being checked on.
