Feds Arrest Opposing Attorney In R. Kelly’s Case For MultiMillion Dollar Scandal & More
Laaaawd…first, the lawyer for one of R. Kelly’s accusers gets convicted, and now the other lawyer who reps the accusers in his upcoming sex abuse trial has just gotten charged and arrested in a multimillion dollar extortion plot…and that’s not all!
By now, many of you are probably familiar with attorney, Michael Avennati. He spearheaded the recent charges against R. Kelly, resulting in Mr. Bump N’ Grind’s arrest after getting hit with 10 felony counts of sex abuse.
Fast forward to today, and now Avenatti is facing several federal charges. Only difference is this has nothing to do with R. Kelly and everything to do with Nike…and also two U.S. Attorney’s Offices. Yep, you read that right. Peep ALL of the details below…
A Nike Extortion Plot?
Michael Avenatti was arrested and charged with trying to extort a whopping $20 MILLION from Nike, according to TMZ:
The feds claim Avenatti told Nike’s lawyers if they didn’t pay him between $15 million and $25 million he would hold a news conference on the eve of Nike’s quarterly earnings call and the start of March Madness and announce allegations of misconduct by employees at the shoe company.
