Talk about getting “happy feelings.” Frankie Beverly recently heard Beyoncé’s rendition of his famous “Before I Let Go” classic. And he has plenty to say about it.

According to Frankie Beverly, Beyoncé is actually a great friend of his. However, nevertheless, he was “shocked” when he’d heard she was interested in covering his classic hit.

Billboard conducted an exclusive interview with Frankie regarding his song with Maze. Beverly says the first time hearing the track, it was pretty much a blessing.

“It’s amazing how she works…” Frankie tells the source. “I’m caught off guard, but in a beautiful way.”

Beverly deems Beyoncé’s track release as “one of the high points” of his life.
