Barry White, but after Barry found out some of the topics and language that would be used on the show, he was like ‘Hell no!’ because he said his Christian beliefs wouldn’t allow him to go through with it. So the role went to our man, Isaac, instead and he took that role and ran with it from 1997 all the way 2006.

On a side note, based on this hilarious old school bloopers audio of Barry White cussin’ up a storm on the radio back in the day, I wouldn’t haven’t expected a few choice words to be the reason for him turning down the role…LOL. Maybe he was a changed man by the time South Park came calling in ’97 though.

Another thing many don’t know is that Isaac was a an avid believer of Scientology, so he had a totally different set of beliefs than Barry White.

Can’t believe it’s almost been 7 years since Isaac Hayes left this earth…time sure does fly. But one thing is definite: Isaac Hayes’ legacy will live on forever, because greatness never dies.
