Hey, Hey, Hey! We Found ‘Dwayne’ (Haywood Nelson) & He’s Doing Well

GOODTIMES’ JJ had “Dynamite.” HAPPY DAYS’ Fonzie had “Hayyyyy.” And then there’s WHAT’S HAPPENING and the hippest, coolest dude, “Dwayne” had “Hey, Hey, Hey.” His real name is Haywood Nelson.

So where is he now? Haywood has held numerous positions in film production including, Screen Writer, 1st Assistant Camera, V.P. of Sales and Marketing International, Film Distribution Foreign for Tanglewood Entertainment Group, and ultimately Content Development Consultant.

Nelson is a global businessman! He has delivered enhanced interactive content and opened up niche market distribution channels in Asia, and Franco-Fone West Africa, in alliance with several partners.

HIS CURRENT PROFESSION

Currently Haywood Nelson is a Senior Partner and Writer/Producer in a Digital Media content start-up company partnered to Executive Produce network, wireless, social media, and gaming content solutions. In short, Haywood Nelson moved into the cutting edge of media and entertainment. You may even already be connected to one of his digital media properties!

What’s Happening only ran three seasons in the mid 70s and was loosely based on the movie, Cooley High. Some years after What’s Happening was cancelled in 1979, ‘Mr. Hey, Hey, Hey,’ started  focusing on technology and was quite successful.

“I’ve always had an interest in technology. Starting with motorcycle, aerospace, and architecture,” says Haywood. “The architecture drove me into Electronics Engineering which led to Telecommunications, Satellite Broadcasting, and the first Dotcom. By the time the internet bubble burst I had been prominent in several tech start-ups.” Amazing! Who knew? Hey, Hey, Hey……
