Holly RobinsonPeete Celebrates 53rd B-Day w/Her Celeb Friends &They All Look Years Younger
Most of us Old Schoolers remember actress, Holly Robinson-Peete, from her days on the TV series, 21 Jumpstreet, and the Hanging With Mr. Cooper sitcom. She was a double threat because she was talented and equally beautiful. Fast forward to now and at 53 she is still FINE as she ever was. That was evident in the photos from her recent birthday celebration with a few of her celebrity friends.
She turned the big 5-3 on September 18th and celebrated with her friends on September 19th, at a gathering that was hosted by her good friends, Tina Lawson (Beyonce’s mother) and her husband/actor, Richard Lawson.

Everyone was there, including Cookie Johnson (Magic Johnson’s wife), Simone Smith (L.L. Cool J.’s wife), Holly’s husband Rodney Peete, hit producer Jimmy Jam (of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis) and his wife were there. So was actress Nicole Ari Parker and her husband, actor Boris Kodjoe. Also in attendance were actress Lela Rochon, boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, music mogul L.A. Reid, and of course Holly’s long time best friend, singer Terry Ellis (of En Vogue).

In addition to her birthday news, we wanna share a few more fun facts about Mrs. Peete, that many of her fans may not know.
1. Holly’s Dad, Matt Robinson, was a former Sesame Street actor and he worked on Sanford and Son as a writer. He also produced and wrote for The Cosby Show. When Sesame Street started in 1969, not only did Robinson play “Gordon,” he also provided the voice of the puppet “Roosevelt Franklin”…in addition to that, he was one of the show’s producers. He left the show in 1971, but years later, when producers needed a last name for the “Gordon” character, which was then played by Hal Miller and then Roscoe Orman, they used Matt Robinson’s last name.
2. Like her best friend, Terry Ellis, Holly is also a singer. She, along with actress Dawnn Lewis and En Vogue sang the theme song for Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.
3. Ever since their now 19 year old son, Rodney Jr., was diagnosed with autism at age 3, Holly and her husband, Rodney, have also dedicated their lives to bringing public awareness to autism, with the hopes of eventually helping to find a cure.
