Jasmine Guy didn’t care about the public’s opinion of her friendship with Tupac at that time, here’s why:

“For me it was more about being there for the family and the trauma they were going through. They were a very close-knit family. And…I just felt happy that I could help in some way and that they allowed me to come into their very close circle. And also [happy] that…Tupac could chill a little bit and try to get better. … It was more about healing him and getting him strong, because he had a lot to deal with on the business level.”

Afeni and Pac’s “conflict”…
According to Jasmine, Tupac and Afeni loved each other to the core, but they also had consistent conflict over issues stemming from the past:

“She’s a complicated woman. She’s very bright. Um…before her addiction took over, she was…very hard headed and very stubborn about the way she was gonna live and who wasn’t gonna tell her what to do. And then raising a boy child, who’s becoming a man- they had conflict.”

Wow, the things we learn when we do a lil’ diggin.’ It’s beautiful that Jasmine Guy was willing to help her friend Tupac in his time of need.
