Jermaine Jackson’s Wife Sues For More Money, Claims Broke & Blames Him For Suspect Injury
Jermaine Jackson may not have 99 problems, but his estranged wife is one…at least according to her latest court filing against him. Many of you may recall his wife, Halima Rashid (48). The two married in 2004 and made headlines in 2015, when Jermaine had Halima arrested for domestic violence, she reportedly bit him on the leg during an argument at their home. By mid 2016, Halima filed for divorce and those papers have been pending so long, that we thought they’d already gone through with it. However, they are still married, but separated and Jermaine has been dishing out spousal support. Now Halima is demanding more.
Why She’s Suing
Halima Rashid says she is broke as a joke and it’s the the “Do What You Do” singer’s fault:
Via TMZ: Halima Rashid filed new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, asking for $35,643 per month in spousal support. She claims it’s a decent amount since Jermaine’s income fluctuates between $50k and $500k per month, depending on which concerts he books and other business deals.
According to the docs, Halima makes just $600 per month, and had to sell her cars to pay her bills. She says her primary job during their marriage was being by Jermaine’s side. She also says she’s gotta pay for treatment on a neck injury she claims Jermaine caused during a 2015 domestic violence incident.
The 2015 neck injury she claims to have received seems a tad bit suspect, because when cops arrived to their home for a domestic dispute, it was Halima who was hauled off to jail. Jermaine was never charged for that incident.
Anywho, Halima also stated in court docs, that Jermaine kicked her out of their family home.
At this point, it’s unclear how much money Jermaine is paying Halima monthly, but it’s less than $35.6K. It’s also not clear what Jermaine’s average monthly income is. Based on Halima’s projection, Jermaine has quite a huge fluctuating stretch from month to month.
So far, Jermaine hasn’t responded to Halima’s filing. Meanwhile back at the ranch…
Jermaine Moved On To His Young Girlfriend
Last time we checked, Jermaine was out here living life with his 24 year old girlfriend by his side. Her name is Maday Velazquez and sure, she’s young enough to be her man’s grandbaby, but I digress.
As we previously reported, Jermaine went public with his new lady a few months after Halima filed for divorce. He clearly wanted to waste no time moving on to the next, so in stepped Maday.
Initially, Jermaine’s fans were surprised because this is the youngest woman they’ve ever known him to date. Now, of course we see many male celebs date/marry younger women, so this isn’t new, although typically their women are young enough to be their kids and not their grandbabies, but there are obviously exceptions to that rule. By the way, Jermaine’s new lady is apparently a celebrity in other countries.
In the U.S., Maday isn’t known, but if you visit Spain, she’s a very controversial reality TV star, who was on Gran Hermano, which is the Spanish language version of the Big Brother reality show franchise.
As far as Jermaine’s and Halima’s spousal support battle, Halima may have a tough fight on her hands. Why? Because in the past, Jermaine reportedly claimed he was earning damn near nothing, despite what his lifestyle may have seemed from the outside looking in. Only time will tell if he pulls that ol’ ‘I’m in way over my head’ broke trick outta the hat again.
