Kandi Burruss Claims Ex-Employee’s Lawsuit Is Ruining Her Reputation

Posted On : January 5, 2018

Kandi Burruss may have started out in the music industry but we all know she’s a businesswoman at heart. So, when she was sued by a former Tags employee, she wasn’t going down without a fight. According to The Jasmine Brand, Kandi is still embroiled in a heated legal battle with her former employee Johnnie Winston. Although it has been reported that the two have reached an agreement, the battle is not over because there’s something Kandi wants.

Records Sealed?:

The former Xscape singer is reportedly demanding that the details of her settlement with Winston remain sealed. While such information is usually considered public record, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star wants the documents sealed to prevent public scandal further damage to her business reputation and the brands she’s working to build and expand. By now, everyone knows how Kandi was treated after Phaedra Parks accused her and her husband Todd Tucker of attempting to drug and rape their co-star Porsha Williams.

So Kandi is not takin’ any chances with Winston. Since Kandi and Todd recently opened the Old Lady Gang restaurant, the last thing they need is more drama. The publication has also revealed details about the lawsuit, thus far.

The Boss From Hell?:

In the lawsuit, Kandi claims she was reportedly described as the “boss from hell” and that the lawsuit is filled with defamatory statements that could not only damage her professional life but the integrity of her career and personal stature. “Ms. Burruss-Tucker’s business and professional reputation should not suffer here simply based on Burruss-Tucker’s celebrity status because the Parties’ have found that settling the matter will be less of a nuisance and drain on personal, and the Court’s resources, than continued litigation.”

No further details about the settlement have been released and Kandi hopes to keep the information sealed.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
