Over the years, Kelis and Nas haven’t had the best co-parenting relationship. However, a couple months ago, it was reported that they’d finally come to an agreement for the sake of their son, Knight, but apparently, things still aren’t going so great. Apparently, the estranged pair have hit another snag in their neverending child custody and support battle. According to Complex magazine, Kelis is demanding more money from her ex-husband, rapper Nas.

Show Me The Money:

It has been reported that Kelis is demanding more than the $8,000 Nas is currently paying because she insists the rapper is now making more than he did when the judge previously ordered him to pay. The publication also specified what Kelis is demanding along with an itemized list of additional expenses for their son.

She says 8-year-old Knight has needs he didn’t have 5 years ago when the order was put in place. She says Nas is doing way better now than he was when the judge ordered him to cough up the $8k monthly support, so he’s more than able to foot the bill for various expenses. She’s not specific as to how much more she wants, but whatever she gets, she wants add-ons to the base … namely, 50% of school-related costs, 50% of any child care Kelis needs, and 50% of unreimbursed health care. – TMZ

Nas’ Legal Clap Back:

The latest news about Kelis’ child support demands follows Nas’ complaints in reference to visitation with his son. Despite making child support payments, Nas filed a legal complaint detailing the difficulties he’s had with Kelis when it comes to him spending time with his son. According to The Blast, Nas previously explained how Kelis has sole control over when he can see his son. Then to make matters worse, Nas even revealed there are times when he goes months without seeing his son because of Kelis.

Nas says he has “tried to work cooperatively with Kelis over the years,” but the “Milkshake” rapper only “allows” him to exercise his custody with their son “when she deems it convenient for her.” He says Kelis chooses when she will allow him custody of the child, and then for months at a time will “refuse to set up time for our son and me to spend time together.” The judge has not yet ruled on Nas’ request. – The Blast

A judge has yet to respond to Kelis and Nas’ requests but it looks like these two will be battling in the courtroom for quite some time.  Nas and Kelis married after two years of dating. The two were together a total of seven years before splitting.
