Though she has addressed her past insecurities about Beyonce’ with the song Dirty Laundry Kelly is speaking on it once again. A few weeks ago Kelly was interviewed while recording a new EP titled The Kelly Rowland Edition. She, along with a group of talented young musicians, was tasked with putting together an entire EP in one week. The experience caused her to dig a little deeper into the subject.

“The elephant in the room for me has always been second best,” she said. “That’s actually the first time I’ve said that out loud.”

Speaking on what motivated her to share that, the former Destiny’s Child star said she felt good vibes with the group.

“I think what kind of took me back was how comfortable I felt in the room to be so transparent,” she said. “It’s got to feel right, and everybody feels like that in here.”

She also admitted that although she and Beyonce drifted apart for a time after they reconnected their bond grew stronger. She also spoke on how unfortunate it is that people would rather see them fight then love and support one another.

“I think the people wanted those stories for years, and that’s just so sad on them because it’s not like that,” she said. “It’s so crazy, and I just think it’s so sad that we live in a world where people don’t want to see women get along and encourage and empower each other, and that’s what we do for each other.”

The Kelly Rowland Edition is available now. For a behind the scenes look at the entire process check out the video from Red Bull Studios below.
