Kevin Hart Finishes NY Marathon Just In Time To Fly Back To L.A. For Son’s Birth

Posted On : November 6, 2017

Finishing his first New York City marathon in 4 hours, 5 minutes, and 6 seconds, Kevin Hart can now focus on the birth of his son Kenzo who is due anytime now. The 38-year-old comedian was in New York to promote his partnership with Tommy John on his line of underwear and to compete in Sunday’s race. Hart told Entertainment Tonight that he insisted wife Eniko Parrish hold off on going into labor until he wrapped up his business on the East Coast.

“She’s about to drop,” Hart says of Parrish. “My wife sneezes wrong, she’s gonna have that baby right now–right now. She sneezes, that baby’s coming out. So I just keep telling her, ‘Hold it.’ That’s what I keep telling her. ‘Hold it!'”

Hart keeps a very busy schedule but he has always blocked out time for his family. The father of two already dotes on a son and daughter from his previous marriage to Torrei Hart. But, like his children, Hart is excited to meet their little brother.

“You know, to have another addition to the family, especially a boy, the last name Hart lives on,” Hart said. “It’s an amazing thing–my third child. And it’s a time when you gotta look and be thankful for the blessings that you have, and more importantly, at the smiles I now get to see on a daily basis, you know… Nothing else comes close so, you know, we’re praying for a healthy delivery, healthy baby and I think smooth sailing from there forth.”

26.2 Damn it….The New York Marathon is officially completed…Check this goal off of my list damn it. #HustleHart #MoveWithHart

Hart completed the race narrowly missing his goal of finishing under four hours. In spite of the rain and some bad cramping at mile 20, he finished strong on Sunday. Hart immediately committed to running four more marathons, but you won’t see him on the trail anytime in the immediate future. He will be in recovery mode and baby mode in the coming weeks.

“You can assume that after the race you’ll see me in Tommy John loungewear and underwear on this plane back. I won’t take them off for a while,” Hart said. “You won’t see me [in] any athletic wear for a while after this run.”
