When Keyshia Cole first started dating now retired NBA player, Daniel “Booby” Gibson, it seemed like they were gonna ‘make it last forever’ like Keith Sweat and Jacci McGhee. Unfortunately, sometimes all good things must come to an end, as the old school saying goes. Keyshia and Booby are now in the negotiating stage of their divorce apparently.

The latest report on the status of their divorce arrangements displays just how much the roles have reversed for Cole and Gibson. When they married in 2011, Keyshia was making her own paper from her R&B career, however, it was nothing like the bread Booby was bringing in. He played a successful 7 years as the point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers (from 2006 to 2013) and his last contract was signed in 2008 for $21 million, in addition to the basketball salary he’d already racked up. Keyshia on the other hand, was reportedly a millionaire at the time, but not a double digits one.

The Latest On What Booby Reportedly Wants From Keyshia

Fast forward to today and like many retired athletes, Booby’s money apparently isn’t what it used to be. That’s probably why, according to TheJasmineBrand, he’s requesting that Keyshia now pay him spousal support. It was also reported that Booby is trying to get full custody of their young son in the divorce agreement.

Is He Right Or Wrong?

Throughout most of their marriage, Keyshia benefitted from the lifestyle Booby was able to afford with his higher NBA salary. Now that his paper isn’t what it once was, is he wrong for requesting that Keyshia scratch his back like he scratched her’s? That’s a tough question, but feel free to share your answer with us.

As far as his alleged request to gain full custody of their 7 year old son, Daniel Gibson Jr., that is probably an unfair one. Both Keyshia and Booby are very close to their lil’ man. So if that custody claim is true, then taking custody away from one of them just doesn’t seem to be in the best interest of the child.
