Ladies LOVE His Legendary Actor DAD & Now HE’S Got TV On Fire, See Who!

Posted On : June 2, 2016

This young brotha has the entertainment gene running through his veins, because he’s carrying a long legacy of entertainment history on his back. His dad has worn several hats in film and television and it doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing up any time soon. One last hint is that his Pops was known as a sex symbol, the ladies were really diggin’ him back in the day and probably still do today.

HE LOOKS A LOT LIKE HIS POPS, SEE WHO HE IS...
Mario Van Peebles is the dad of 21 year old Mandela Van Peebles (he was named after Nelson Mandela). Mandela is an actor, which isn’t surprising, because with a grandfather like director/actor, Melvin Van Peebles, who made history with his 70’s classic film, “Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song” and a father like actor/director, Mario, who’s starred in everything from “New Jack City” to “Silver Spoon,” Mandela was bred to follow in their path to greatness.

MARIO VAN PEEBLES, YOU ARE THE FATHER!!!

Mandela Van Peebles is currently starring as “Noah” in the new History Channel series, “Roots,” which his dad, Mario, directed one episode. A lanky teenager and orphaned child of a slave who died in the fields. Noah is a slave on the Waller plantation who is promised to Kizzy by Dr. Waller, an act which infuriates both Kizzy and her father, Kunta Kinte. Noah is a decent young man though, who grows to love Kizzy and works hard to win her love. Noah proves to have more to him than meets the eye, with a rebellious, determined streak.

Prior to his “Roots” role, he starred in two of his father’s films, “We Are The Party” (2012) and the biopic about his grandfather, Melvin Van Peebles, “Badaaaasss” (2003).

Was your guess on point for this one ILOSM fam? Below is Mandela’s mom is Lisa Vitello and she’s the ex-wife of Mario.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
