Bob Marley’s son, Rohan Marley (46), showed some love to his former longtime love, Lauryn Hill. The father of 5 of Lauryn’s 6 kids, has always been one to hold his ex-Queen up in the highest regard, no matter what they went through behind closed doors. May 26, 2018 was no different, when he took to Instagram to send a b-day message to Lauryn by way of their rarely seen 1 year old grandson, Zephaniah Marley.

Like his beloved Jamaican father, Rohan Marley is a devoted Rastafarian. In his many online posts, he makes that very clear and in his b-day post to Lauryn Hill (shown above), instead of wishing her a ‘happy birthday,’ he sent her the “BLESSED EARTH STRONG” salute. ‘Blessed (or happy) earth strong’ is the common Jamaican patois phrase used among Rastas, to represent the number of years one has been going strong on this earth.

Zephaniah is the son of Lauryn’s and Rohan’s 20 year old son, Zion Marley (shown above). Rohan refers to Lauryn as their grandson’s “Bama,” although it’s unclear what that means. Anywho, needless to say, little Zephaniah is gonna have quite the multicultural upbringing- his grandmommy’s soulful/hip hop roots; his grandpops’ Rasta roots; his great-grandpops’ Rasta roots and half Syrian-Jewish bloodline; his daddy, Zion’s, hip hop roots; and his mother, Tanasa’s….well not much is really known about Zephaniah’s mother (shown below), but she’s beautiful though.

Lauryn’s Rarely Seen Sixth Child & Past Confusion About His Dad

While we’re on the topic of Lauryn’s offspring, let us share with y’all new photos of her rarely seen 6 year old son, Micah Hill. Lauryn’s lil’ man will be turning 7 this year (2018) and his big sister, Selah (Sarah) Marley, showed him love online recently. Check out the pics below…

Together Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley share 5 children. Rohan also has two older children from a prior relationship. For the longest, fans had assumed that Lauryn’s sixth child, Micah, was Rohan’s son, because most did not know they’d broken up after 10 years. In 2011, shortly after giving birth to Micah (who’s real father’s identity remains a secret) Lauryn released a statement to fans about Rohan:

“Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning,” Hill wrote on her website. “To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form WRONG conclusions.”

Prior to Lauryn releasing her statement, many fans bashed Rohan for ‘not supporting’ Lauryn throughout her pregnancy with Micah, due to their assumptions that he was Micah’s dad. However, out of his respect for Lauryn, Rohan refrained from letting the public know the child was not his. He left that up to Lauryn to clear up, before speaking on the topic in 2011:

“People would rather listen to gossip than hear from the actual individuals,” Rohan Marley tweeted. “Some people just don’t want the truth.”

Rohan Expressed Regret After Split

Following their split, Rohan did an interview expressing how much he still loved Lauryn and the regrets he has:

“I feel sad that I loved her so much and I faltered in expressing it to her somehow. It was my fault that she did not understand how I felt, and it was sad that we did not work out in that relationship sense. I was heartbroken for a long time.”
