A couple months ago, fans were happy to hear LisaRaye had found love and she was ready to walk down the aisle again. But shortly after announcing her engagement, the Players Club actress revealed she was calling the engagement off. For most fans, the abrupt change immediately raised lots of questions and now LisaRaye is opening up about what really happened behind the scenes – literally.

Wedding Called Off:

For those who don’t know, LisaRaye met her man when she appeared on the ABC reality show The Proposal. In a nutshell, The Proposal is quite similar to The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, where women and men are vying for the attention of an alluring stranger in hopes of finding love. In LisaRaye’s case, there were three men competing for her affection and Anthony Bryant ended up being the man she chose. However, their whirlwind romance was short-lived.

In August, LisaRaye announced she was calling off her wedding, just one month after they announced the engagement. At the time she took to Instagram with a detailed post about their mutual decision to call off the wedding.

With a photo of herself, she included a caption announcing their split. “Hello everyone, yes the relationship with Anthony B is over,” she wrote. “I feel the right decision was made when I chose Anthony from the batch of men I was given to select from the TV show.”

Lisa Raye calls off her engagement to her boyfriend that she met on a reality tv show because she says they are not on the same level she isn't willing to downgrade to a smaller home for no man. But my question is if your partner had less and the other partner had more could the one with more downsize to find a home they both could contribute to financially. I mean who wants to be the one stuck paying a high mortgage if you could cut the living expenses in half. Does ego go before love or relationship or should living expenses be a compromise. Is Lisa Raye an example of a too independent woman or is this a case of no scrubs. Me personally I rather live below my means to save for retirement but hey im not celebrity diva but I do hate the fact another beautiful woman is alone tonight. I want all Queens to have a King but maybe Lisa Raye's happily ever after is living in a huge castle by herself. #cantarguewithyourself #lisaraye #livingalone #breakups #alone #ego #engagement #calloff #nowedding #blogger #blogs #celebritynews

Story Behind ‘The Proposal’:

According to The Jasmine Brand, she’s sounding off about The Proposal and how things went down behind the scenes. LisaRaye recently posted a live video to Facebook where she explained the ins and outs of the reality show. They were all smiles when they announced the engagement, but when the cameras stopped rolling, things quickly changed.

“Don’t be fooled by [the fact that] this show is called ‘The Proposal;’ that he put a ring on my finger, and I said, ‘Yes, I do.’ What ‘yes, I do’ was – what the premise of the show was is: meet somebody that you could possibly leave this stage and get to know, and if a marriage and engagement happens, then we’re all for it. If it doesn’t happen, then you’ve gotta go onto the next.”

But unlike lots of other celebrity relationships that end on a bad note, LisaRaye revealed she and Anthony mutually decided they’d be better off as friends.

“Once we had a discussion and realize we weren’t compatible, and there was no chemistry between us, then we were like, ‘Yeah, I think we’d be better off as friends.’ She added, “Once you figure out your regiment and you realize that it’s not going the way you think a relationship is supposed to go, you go, ‘Wait a minute. This isn’t what this is…We’re just cool.’”

LisaRaye went on to explain her personal struggles with love. She admitted she could be subconsciously doing something lots of women do. Since she was a daddy’s girl, she could be looking for someone relatively similar to her father.

“One things for sure: I might be looking for my father. And most women are. You know what I mean? I was definitely a daddy‘s girl, and I was definitely spoiled…I’m looking for a portion of my father – somebody that’s going to look at me, and love me, and cherish me, and take care of me.”

If LisaRaye would have tied the knot with Anthony Bryant, it would have been her third marriage.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
