frankie beverly and son2

celebrated his Dad and Maze’s legacy, by producing a tribute album to Frankie and getting singers, Joe, Mary J. Blige, Musiq SoulChild, The Clark Sisters, Mint Condition and more, to cover classic Maze songs on the album titled, “I Wanna Thank You…An All Star Tribute to Maze f/Frankie Beverly.” They all came together for a common goal: to pay tribute to living legends. Anthony said “It was a labor of love. We had a good time working on the project.” He just felt it was time to honor his father and Maze’s accomplishments, which includes 30 hit singles, twelve albums and more than forty years in the music industry.

Wow! Now tell me, what’s the criteria for “earning” a Grammy again? Because if that ain’t it, then I don’t know what is! That’s okay though, who needs trophies, when you can have such a loyal fan base that will ride with you for almost 40 years now? How many artists/musicians can say that? It will be interesting to see where these artists rapping about “being in love with the coco” and “money clothes and ho*$” will be 40 years from now…but I digress.

Check out this video of Anthony and singer, Joe talking about the tribute album to his Dad, Frankie Beverly on the next page>>>

About I Love Old School Music
