Magic Johnson Sends Son Touching Birthday Message But Fans Give Mixed Reactions
NBA legend, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, celebrated his and wife, Cookie Johnson’s son, E.J., for his 26th birthday. E.J. Johnson is known as the proud gay son of Magic and he oftentimes dominates the internet in his scantily clad high designer brand outfits at various public events. So as expected, when Magic shared photos of his family supporting E.J. on his b-day, fans sounded off about it.
Magic’s Touching Tribute To Son, E.J.
In an Instagram post, Magic shared young and current pics of E.J. with a caption that read:
“Happy birthday to my amazing son @ejjohnson_ who is helping change the world. I am so proud of the person you have become. Continue to be your best self and walk in authenticity, passion, and ambition. I love you!”
Fans React
It was only a matter of time before fans reacted to seeing E.J.’s son. Some fans left negative messages:
One commenter wrote, “I have no room to judge but how can a man let his son turn into this? If they actually believed in god and Jesus like the publicize then they would’ve set their son on the right path.”
Another person stated, “I know you love ur kid but, if he was born a man he should be a man. You should not change that. It’s not right. I wish him a happy birthday though.”

Magic & Cookie Share Their Conflicting Feelings When E.J. Came Out
Magic and Cookie previously revealed on “The Steve Harvey Show” what his and Cookie’s true thoughts were upon learning that E.J. was a gay man. They had two very different experiences with his coming out. Cookie was okay with E.J.’s sexuality from day one, but Magic on the other hand, had a bit of a struggle at first.

It’s wonderful that E.J. has had the unconditional love and support of those who matter the most to him- his mom, his dad, his sister, Elisa, and his big brother, Andre. With that type of love, he can conquer the world regardless of how much scrutiny he faces every time he steps out of his door as a gay male.
This is just another reminder that we cannot always foresee what our children will become, nor will we be able to control who they truly are. What we can control as parents, is love them unconditionally, train them to be good people and hope that as they grow older, they’ll never forget those lessons- regardless of if they’re gay, bisexual, or straight.
