Mother’s Day Bail Outs Are Happening Across The U.S.

A coalition called (F)empower is also helping bail out moms on Mother’s Day, in Florida. “We ain’t in this alone, never have been, never will be!” (F)empower mentions of partner Dream Defenders.
Of course, they’re freeing non-violent offenders and those who have been locked up for something petty but couldn’t afford bail.
For instance, the photo below shows a recently-freed mother who is now able to spend Mother’s Day with family. Via Instagram, (F)empower mentions as follows:

Sentencing Project reports that even young girls of color are twice as likely to be incarcerated than young white girls.
“Girls of color are much more likely to be incarcerated than white girls,” the source mentions. “The placement rate for all girls is 47 per 100,000 girls (those between ages 12 and 17).”
“For white girls, the rate is 32 per 100,000. Native girls (134 per 100,000) are more than four times as likely as white girls to be incarcerated; African American girls (110 per 100,000) are three-and-a-half times as likely; and Latina girls (44 per 100,000) are 38% more likely.”
