Monica Reveals Real Reason She Declined Offer To Join ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’

Posted On : October 27, 2017

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is one of the highest rated reality series on TV. Over the past eight years, the show has gained quite the reputation and many women would probably jump through hoops for a chance to join the cast. But there’s one singer who didn’t bat an eye when Bravo offered her an invitation to join the cast. Apparently, Monica just wasn’t interested in joining the cast. Now, her reason for declining the offer has gone viral and fans couldn’t respect her more.

Not Interested:

For those who don’t know, Andy Cohen actually suggested that Monica join the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast years ago. To many fans, Monica may have been a good fit for the show considering how things turned out for Kandi Burruss but Monica believed the opportunity just wasn’t for her.

During an interview with People magazine, she explained why. The “For You I Will” singer expressed how important it is for her to maintain a positive image for the sake of her children. She isn’t knocking the show or any of its cast members, but in a nutshell, Monica’s choosing motherhood over her career. “I would only join a show that I could also be executive producer of because what my children see me do is important to me. I would only be on a show where I could see everything before it airs and be a full participant in what it means.”

Going Forward:

Monica also revealed what she’d be interested in if she ever opted to do a television show. She continued, “And my goal, if I ever were to do a television show, would be to help girls like myself or people from the communities that are similar to the world that I’m from.” So, it looks like Monica won’t be taking on reality TV anytime soon but that doesn’t mean television is out of the question. Maybe in the future Monica will snag a deal for a different type of reality series.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
