More Details: Days Before Passing, “Deebo” Actor, Tommy “Tiny” Lister, ‘Felt Very Ill’

As we continue to mourn the passing of one of actor, Tommy “Tiny” Lister a.k.a. “Deebo” from the Friday film, details have emerged about the health state he was in prior to his passing. Below are updates from those within his inner circle.

COVID Symptoms Prior To Passing:
According to Lister’s manager, Cindy Cowan, the actor had been experiencing some COVID-like symptoms days before he’d passed away.

In a statement to CNN, Cowan revealed that Lister began feeling very ill approximately one week before his death. She says he wasn’t breathing well and was feeling extremely week.

Via TMZ– [Cindy Cowan] says he was supposed to work on a movie set last weekend but had to cancel due to his breathing difficulties, and he also canceled a Zoom appearance for a TV festival Wednesday. That night is when Cowan says friends and family tried to call and check on him, but their calls went on answered.

Friends and Business Associates Called Cops:

A release from The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department says friends and business associates of Lister became worried Thursday when they hadn’t heard from him since Wednesday night. Deputies performed a welfare check where they made their way into his apartment and found him dead. -via TMZ

Although Lister’s loved ones are reporting the COVID-like symptoms, it has not yet been confirmed, by the coroner, that Lister did in fact have COVID. Lister’s cause of death has not yet been determined, however, an autopsy is scheduled to conclude what exactly claimed his life.

I Love Old School Music family we have some extremely heartbreaking news to share.Tommy “Tiny” Lister, better known to many as “Deebo” from the Friday movie, has just been pronounced dead. He was just 62 years young.

Here’s what has been reported regarding his passing thus far:

TMZ– Law enforcement sources tell us they got a call to the actor’s Marina Del Rey apartment Thursday, just before 3 PM, for an unconscious male. Our sources say Tommy was not transported to the hospital, as he was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to sources, the coroner is currently still at his home, and no cause of death has been reported as of yet.

Although most of us know Tiny for his mean muggin’ bullying role, “Deebo” in Friday, he’s held his own in the acting world in many various roles since the 1980’s and beyond. His most recent roles though, according to TMZ, were to urge children to protect themselves with personal protective gear amid the current COVID19 pandemic.

Behind the scenes, Tiny was known to be one of the coolest dudes around. He was big in stature, but also had a big heart.

The way he’s touched so many lives with his acting abilities will never be forgotten, just as his most known character, “Deebo” NEVER will.
