Singer, Ne-Yo, had to step outside of his typically laid-back character, early Saturday (3/17/18), to deliver a few virtual chin-checks to his fans and haters. Why, you ask? Because Ne-Yo has been on his ‘grown-man’ vibes lately and decided to post an online message, encouraging men everywhere to do the same. Sounds innocent enough, right? Wrong. Things took a sharp turn left, after people started weighing in on Ne-Yo’s message, including comedian, Lil Duval, which resulted in Ne-Yo cursing the hell him out. See what went down below…

What Started The Beef

Ne-Yo has a new single titled, “Good Man,” and the song is FIRE by the way! Anywho, Ne-Yo’s “Good Man” song is all about a brotha in a relationship, who wasn’t always the best man to his lady, but is trying to now be the very best man his woman deserves. Ne-yo’s latest joint is reflective of his own life. Today, at 38 years old, he admits that he’s learned and is still learning to be a “good man” to his wife, Crystal Smith.

Amid his journey toward becoming a “good man,” for his wife, Ne-Yo posted a message on Instagram early Saturday (3/17/2018), to not only encourage other men to do the same, but to also bring 90s romance back to R&B music and our society as a whole.

Typically, there would seem to be nothing wrong with that, however, some of Ne-Yo’s fans and Lil’ Duval feel otherwise, for various reasons…

Fans Slam Ne-Yo’s “Hypocritical” Post

As soon as Ne-Yo posted his Instagram message, fans flooded his timeline with allegations about him, his wife, and his ex-fiancee. Many of y’all may recall the 2 year old drama surrounding the claims of Ne-Yo’s ex-wife, Monyetta Shaw. In a 2016 interview, Monyetta implied ‘made her’ get her tubes tied in 2011, following the birth of their second child and suspected that Ne-Yo may have cheated on her with his now current wife, Crystal. Shaw also said Ne-Yo told her he would get a vasectomy as well, but that he then surprisingly called off their wedding in 2013 and went on to eventually have a baby with and marry his current wife, Crystal.

Many folks immediately bashed Ne-Yo, following Monyetta’s reveal. So as you can imagine, after Ne-yo posted his latest IG message, encouraging men to cherish their women, fans pounced all over him in the comments, calling him a “hypocrite,” among other things:

Ironically, just the day before Ne-Yo received all the backlash over his past relationship with his ex-fiancee, his wife, Crystal posted a special shout-out to Monyetta on Instagram:

That pretty much proves what Ne-Yo said in his prior post- that he and Monyetta Shaw have clearly worked out whatever issues they had and are now peacefully co-parenting their 2 children together- who both clearly love their little brother (Crystal and Ne-Yo’s son).
