Oh No, Kym Whitley & Her Fam’ Got Robbed, Her Response Is Priceless
Actress, Kym Whitley, revealed on her Facebook page that she and her family were robbed, but it was her reaction to the robbery that was one of the most priceless and classiest things we’ve ever seen.
It all went down on one of the worst days that a person could ever get robbed (not that there is any perfect day to get jacked out of all of your stuff), on Christmas Eve (12-24-2015). Her home was burglarized and there went Christmas for her young son, Joshua. Although they were robbed of the material things, Kym displayed the essence of what the Christmas season is supposed to be about – the spirit of gratitude and love. Here is what she posted on her Facebook page:
“Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! We got Robbed last night, and it bothered me but not really. Maybe because my brother @KyleWhitley lost the most. I guess after my mother passed away in 2011, I view life differently. I’m thankful that they didn’t rob us at gun point, I’m thankful my dad didn’t get hurt, I’m thankful that everything my brother lost can be replaced. Jesus is the reason for the season and if the person that Robbed us needed those things to feed his family and not his habit, then I’m ok with it. God bless you all, smile at someone today, tell someone you love them and remember love last forever, materials things last until the new one comes out.”
Now tell me ILOSM fam,’ if somebody broke into your home, violated your personal space, and jacked you and your family out of ALL your Christmas gifts, do you think you would have been able to take it all in stride like Kym Whitley did?
She is a class act that’s for sure. Kym’s outlook is an example of the amount of wisdom that life’s trials and tribulations can bring forth in an individual. Her Mother’s unfortunate passing helped her to be humble, patient, and gave her the ability to brush the dirt and nonsense off of her shoulder and keep it pushing. Hopefully she and her son were able to still have a beautiful Christmas.

If you’re not familiar with it, it’s about seeing Kym and her friends go through the constant lessons of raising Kym’s adopted son, Joshua, after his biological mom (a woman Kym mentored for 15 years), vanished from the hospital after giving birth to Joshua and left Kym’s name as the person to contact. So Kym was an unexpected mother, but she loves little Joshua more than life itself. Good for you Ms. Whitley!
