According to actress, Donzaleigh Abernathy, Omar Epps must have gotten a wee bit too into his character and tried to do her harm for real, as opposed to acting like he was doing her harm. She was 59 years old at the time of the alleged incident and claims the broken arm wasn’t the only thing she suffered at the hands of Omar:

Via TMZ– Donzaleigh Abernathy claims she was filming a scene with Epps in May 2016 for the USA show “Shooter” where his character was supposed to murder her character, when he “completely deviated from the script” and “threw his left forearm with full force at [her] right arm,” and broke it. … According to the docs … along with breaking her arm, he also dropped her hard on the floor and injured her back. She claims production was stopped and she was rushed to the hospital.

Not only is Ms. Abernathy suing Epps, she’s also included Paramount Pictures in the lawsuit as well, for ‘negligence and assault and battery.’ In addition to that, she’s requesting punitive damages for her pain and suffering, as well as coverage for her future and present medical costs.

At this time, Omar Epps has yet to give his side of the story and as we all know, there are always three sides to every story- her side, his side, and the truth. So far though, this ain’t looking good for Omar. I’m all for method actors, who submerge themselves into their characters for the greater good of the art. But sometimes things can get a lil’ too real when they’re in the moment. Not saying that was the case for Omar Epps in this situation- wasn’t there, so I don’t know- but I’m just sayin.’

What I do know, is that as Omar Epps deals with this lawsuit, singer, Keisha (of the R&B group, Total), will be right by her husband’s side through it all.
