Patti Reunites With Ex-Hubby To Celebrate His B-Day With Their Adorable Biracial Grandbabies
Many fans were surprised to see Patti and Armstead chilin’ together for his recent b-day. Why? Because ever since divorcing in 2003, they haven’t been seen together publicly for a minute. Speaking of divorce, in a 2016 interview on Oprah’s Masterclass, Patti explained why she divorced Armstead after 32 years of marriage:
“We realized that we couldn’t live together anymore. We liked each other from a distance. When you feel that, somebody gotta go.
I never hated him. He never hated me. We just couldn’t live together — not because of physical fights or anything. We never fought, thank God, in 32 years. We got along even when we didn’t get along! But then we realized that we had to leave each other.”
Although they’re no longer Mr. and Mrs., here’s where they are today:
“We’re cool now,” she says. “He’s one of my best friends.”
Awww…all’s well that ends well.
