The critically acclaimed author Luvvie Ajayi of I’M JUDGING YOU: The Do Better Manual joined in on the discussion of what singers should pay homage to the late Aretha Franklin. Someone suggested Tevin Campbell and Luvvie seemed to scoff at the suggestion. Black Twitter did not care for her comment and they let her know it.

Luvvie’s criticism of Tevin Campbell rubbed many people the wrong way. The response to her tweet was overwhelming with the likes of Wale and Missy Elliott stepping in to defend Campbell as an iconic performer His name has been trending and it was a nice reminder that he has not been forgotten.
