Power Star Naturi Naughton Exposes Why She’s Left Her Fiance’ & Her Struggles Being Dark Skin
When Power star and former 3LW singer, Naturi Naughton, celebrated the birth of her first child with her longtime fiance,’ Ben, in 2017, they seemed head over heels in love. Welp, according to Naturi, that was then, and this is now- and in the words of Brian McKnight, “after the love is gone…life must go on.” That’s exactly where the “Tasha” actress’ head is at right now, regarding the engagement she’s recently called off.
In a new interview with Essence, she let it all out, revealing why she no longer wants to be with the father of her child, as well as struggles she’s had with being a beautiful dark skinned woman…and she held nothing back.

Naturi’s parents have been married for 47 years, so she has a pretty good model to compare the type of union she wants with a lifelong partner, and apparently Ben didn’t make that final cut:
“I don’t want to be married if it’s not the right marriage and the right person,” the 35-year-old actress told ESSENCE. “Pressure is really induced by living up to other people’s expectations, and instead of trying to live up to somebody else’s expectations for me, I just need to be happy.”
