Posted On : March 21, 2019

A fan, after allegedly seeing R. Kelly’s video on March 21, commented on Joann’s post in defense of the singer. The comment read, “Happy bday. Now support the man that gv you life” and another fan responded with, “God? The creator? Allah?” R. Kelly’s daughter Joann “Buku” commented under the 2nd fan’s post with, “hello?????” and even showed her mother’s comment some love too.

Her mother, former ex-wife of R. Kelly, commented on their daughter’s post with, “But you’re still my baby . . . . . .4EVAH”. Joann then commented back with, “I LOVE YOU SO MUCH”. Andrea Kelly was married to the singer from 1996-2009 and was featured in the documentary: “Surviving R. Kelly” on Lifetime. The daughter and mother duo did go on a interview where the discussed their relationship status with R. Kelly. Joann “Buku” maturely stated, “I’m very torn, at the end of the day, it’s still family, he’s still my blood. So yes, I do still love my father and that’s something I want people to understand. I never came out and said what I said to make people feel like I hate him, or I’m bashing him because that’s not it”, The Jasmine Brand reported. She continued by saying, “At the end of the day, you have to be responsible for your actions.

If my father is a toxic person, then we will have to love him from a distance. There is no love lost, I just had to separate myself.” Despite the singer’s attempt to reconcile with his daughter, at this point it seems that Joann is loving her father at a distance.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
